The companies will exchange talent for events in both the United States and Japan. NJPW originated in 1972 under the auspices of Japanese wrestling legend Antonio Inoki. It’s a globally recognized brand in the world of wrestling, and its attendance annually ranks among the best.

“New Japan Pro Wrestling is excited to align with Jeff Jarrett and his vision for Global Force Wrestling,” said Naoki Sugabayashi, NJPW chairman of the board. “Our brand is well known in many parts of the world, and this is an opportunity for us not only to expand it but to bring our fans the very best in

Jarrett, the founder and CEO of GFW, is pleased to add this partnership to one already announced with top Mexican promotion AAA.

“What NJPW has done in the past 40 years speaks for itself,” Jarrett said. “Several top American stars have appeared there through the years, including current IWGP heavyweight champion A.J. Styles.

“To be able to share our talent in Japan is exciting, and to bring the top Japanese stars here will expose our fan base to another exciting style and terrific brand, just like AAA. Global Force Wrestling will do everything possible to put the best possible talent in front of its rabid fans.”

Rob Conway Regains NWA World Title in Vegas

Monday, June 02, 2014
Colby Primeaux

“Ironman” Rob Conway has defeated Satoshi Kojima at the Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion in Las Vegas on Monday to regain the National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Championship. The challenge for this match was made and accepted at NWA Southern All-Star Wrestling’s “Collision Course” event in Nashville on Friday, May 30. This marks the first time the World Heavyweight Championship has changed in hands in such a city known for high-profile combat sporting contests.

The victory begins Conway’s second reign with the championship. His first began when he defeated the Tokyo Monster Kahagas at an NWA Branded Outlaw Wrestling event in San Antonio, Texas on March 16, 2013. It came to an end at the hands of Kojima at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s “Wrestle Kingdom 8” event in Tokyo on January 4 in Kojima’s second attempt at capturing the title, having unsuccessfully challenged Conway on April 7, 2013.

Kojima, upon having defeated Conway, became the 48th NWA World Heavyweight Champion in the 66-year history of National Wrestling Alliance. Kojima, along with partner Hiroyoshi Tenzan, is also one half of the reigning NWA World Tag Team Champions, having defeated Conway and Jax Dane on April 6 at NJPW’s “Invasion Attack 2014” in Tokyo.

Kojima had successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship six times, defeating Byron Wilcott on February 9 in Hiroshima, Conway on April 12 in Taiwan, Wes Brisco on May 3 in Fukuoka, Jeremiah Plunkett and Damien Wayne in two separate matches on May 30 in Nashville and Houston Carson on May 31 in Houston.

WWE PPV Payback for the week of June 1st, 2014 | AfterBuzz TV

AFTERBUZZ TV — In this special episode, hosts The Hobo and Steve Kaufmann break down the 2014 Payback Pay-Per-View in which evolution was the very thing that caught up with the collective of former World Champions, and it came in the form of three younger men in flak jackets and combat boots. In a No Holds Barred Elimination Match, The Shield beat the once unstoppable faction, sweeping their side completely in a lopsided three-to-zero victory that clearly illustrated which side adapted and which would perish. Natural selection is never a pretty thing and that was certainly true here. When a match spills into the audience within the first minute of action, you know you're in for a barnburner. And that's what the rowdy Second City faithful got as WWE cameras struggled to keep up with three separate brawls in separate pockets of the arena — Reigns and Batista at the top of the entrance ramp, Ambrose and Orton at ringside and Rollins and Triple H slugging it out within an eyelash of fans. It's WWE's "Payback PPV -- June 1st, 2014″ Podcast!
